Nyaman kali ah…

Posted in Family, Travels on Monday, April 28, 2008 by Syazana

Ambuyat, Tempoyak, Nasi Katok
Food I have been indulging Bruneian style.
Living in the Kampong is so refreshing and carefree.

The unpolluted and unsuffocating air.
Waking up to the melodious sounds of the adzhan(call for prayer) straight from the mosque and not from the radio.
Watching the sunrise from ur bed.
The vast backyard ur playground.

I know some of you have reserved opinions on Brunei.
Don’t worry, u guys are not the only ones.
I have to admit if not for my close relatives here, Brunei will never be a travel destination.
Except maybe for the eco-tourism.
To view some Probosis monkeys and Orang Utans in the vast jungles of Temburong.

The change in lifestyle is so obvious.
There is no crazy rat race here where everyone is doing whatever they can to climb all the ladders available.
Be it the social or corporate ladder.
The pace of life is at such a comfortable rate.

I’ve always thought of settling down here, in this country.
Where my kids would have Awangku and Dayangku in front of their names.

But Singapore will always be the place I grew up in.
Where all of my closest family and friends are.

So for now, I am quite contented with being part of the frantic rat race.
And also cos they do not have Ben & Jerry’s here.

My two travel companions

See u guys really soon!
And Enjoy Free Cone Day tmr….

Reap What You Sow

Posted in Blah on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 by Syazana

Simple joys comes in small packages that fits into your mailbox.
Got a surprise today when I went to get letters on my way up.
What I have always been waiting for and praying for.
And it came as a pair.
That’s a total surprise!

And as I read on
That initial jubilant feeling was quickly engulfed by the feeling of
“The Mistaken Identity.”

I told myself how could it have been me.
They totally got the wrong person.
It was clear I wasn’t the one who should be receiving it.

Now, how am I suppose to receive it with open arms
In front of the person who truly deserves it.

I do not want another incident of
“Oh, of course she will get it. Everyone likes her.”
No question about it.

I want to be recognised for my own efforts and hard work.
Not cos of my position or my connections.

I can just imagine their faces and fake smiles.
But most importantly,
How do I defend myself?
Cos I myself feel like I am undeserving of such an honour.

Don’t get me wrong.
I am totally thankful for it.
Thank you God for all that You have given me.

As for now,
I could only guess,
I Guess…

Sun-Kissed

Baked and toasted crisp.
My skin, I mean.
Well I am not complaining.
Except for the stinging pain on my back everytime I lie on it.

I so love my tan!
Golden and a bit Red!
Haha…
Ok quite red….

But what I love more
Is how much of a beach bum we have become.
And I certainly can’t get enough of their company.
They are definitely the most addictive people I’ve met.
And Ben & Jerry’s, of course.

Its 7 days to Free Cone Day!!!

21st and A Half

Posted in Birthdays, Friends, Fun, Party on Thursday, April 17, 2008 by Syazana

So the date yesterday was April 16th.
And I was invited to a rather different and special event.

Tassha turned 21 on the 16th of October 2007.
However, it was the 3rd day of Hari Raya and our first day back in sch.
So there wasn’t much of a celebration.

And so she decides to celebrate her 21st and a half.
And I could also give her the long awaited 21st present.
Don’t get me wrong.
We gave her 20 presents last year
And the 21st was suppose to be a book written by us.
Titled: Behind that Beautiful Smile
Not very successful though…..
My fault….

Venue was Canelle’s…
Our favourite dessert shop over at Robertson Walk.
They have a branch over at Paragon and Raffles City too.
Sadly, we didn’t get to indulge in all the sinful and gorgeous cakes and desserts.
As they close at 8pm and we arrived at 8pm.
And that was only the beginning of Tassha’s sulky night.

The button on her shoe came off.

Aisyah, the handy woman can! manage to fix it with a safety pin.

Everything seems to be fine and dandy now.

And so we decided to have dinner at Manhattan Fish Market.
All the way over at Central, Clarke Quay.

Tassha’s Sizzling Louisiana Prawns

Grilled Platter For One

Half of my family in sydney

Who u talking to Naz?? Hee Hee…
Love is in the air….

Our favourite book…
We even brought it to clarke quay on a Ladies Nite!

The rest of the night was simply said….
Funny and totally kick ass….

Micheal Jackson a Muslim?

Posted in Islam, Music on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 by Syazana

Came across this video.
And this song is titled Give Thanks to Allah
And sung by Micheal Jackson himself.

So is he a Muslim now?
If he is,
then Alhamdullilah.

Give Thanks To ALLAH!

Give thanks to Allah,
for the moon and the stars
PRAISE HIM ALL DAY FOR,
what is and what was
take hold of your eman
dont givin to shaitaan
oh you who believe please give thanks to Allah.
Allahu Ghafoor Allahu Raheem Allahu yuhibbul el Mohsineen,
hua Khalikuna hua Razikuna wahuwa Ala kulli shaien Kadir

Allah is Ghafoor Allah is Raheem Allah is the one who loves the Mohsineen,
He is a creater, He is a sustainer and He is the one who has power over all.

Give thanks to Allah,
for the moon and the stars
prays in all day full,
what is and what was
take hold of your eman
dont givin to shaitaan
oh you who believe please give thanks to Allah.
Allahu Ghafoor Allahu Raheem Allahu yuhibbul el Mohsineen,
hua Khalikuna hua Razikuna wahuwa Allah kulli shaien Kadir

Allah is Ghafoor Allah is Raheem Allah is the one who loves the Mohsineen,
He is a creater, He is a sustainer and He is the one who has power over all.

Blue Mondays

Posted in Just me and you on Monday, April 14, 2008 by Syazana

You never lost me.

I was just searching for my soul again.

I am sure you know the truth.

Its too huge a step forward for me to take.

A whole year is not a short time.

Loads of things can happen.

Even a change of heart.

So, let’s wait and see.

And ask our hearts where it belongs a year later.

That is my decision.

And I know you will respect it.
